Cava’s More-Than-Bite-Sized IPO

They’re Turning Lettuce Into Dollar Bills 💸 

Let’s face it, Cava hits. What do they say? A spinach a day keeps the iron deficiency away…or something like that.

Did you hear that the Mediterranean restaurant chain Cava just IPO’d? That’s right, they’re going public before Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet…iykyk. Oh, and did it get performance anxiety like Leah Michelle trying to read this newsletter? Nope, the day it was listed on the stock market $CAVA soared 99%.

For reference, Sweetgreen's IPO was $27 and ended the first day above $50.

So what does that mean? Well, IPO stands for Initial Public Offering, and here’s how it works ↓

What’s crazy about Cava in particular is that they have 263 locations but they’re NOT yet profitable. So what could this IPO mean for them? 

Green Flags ✅:

• Lots of growth potential

• Loyal customers

Red Flag 🚩:

• Losing money

I eat Cava every day so they should really thank me for making this happen for them.

It’s time they change their rewards program from $8 off salads to $8 worth of shares. Give us the $CAVA! Because it’s rich girl summer and we’re getting our money up. Also, $8 isn’t even one salad be SO for real right now.

Sweetgreen’s Adding This Secret Ingredient To Its Locations 🥗 

Our favorite fast casual lunch spot is making some crazy changes…and it’s not what you’d expect. (This one’s for the introverts).

Sweetgreen recently announced its first fully automated location and you’ll NEVER guess where…are you making your guesses?

Ok, fine, stop begging, I’ll tell you. ILLINOIS. Definitely not the first place we think of for the “future of tech”.

It’s called the Infinite Kitchen and it’s Sweetgreen’s 200th store. 

Jonathan Neman (CEO of Sweetgreen) told investors that he’s expecting ALL locations to be fully automated soon enough. The goal is to cut costs and increase customer experience.

How are we feeling about this? Do we think the robots will give us some lil extra freebies? As long as they don’t add too much dressing I guess it’s fine…
